This document is a brief manual explaining how to use the new online peer review system (ReX Review), which was introduced to GTC on April 22, 2025.
For more detailed instructions, please refer to the official manuals provided by Wiley.

Reviewing the Initial Version

Click here for the revised version.

1. The review invitation will arrive by email, as shown below.
If you are willing to accept the request, please click [AGREE].

2. The login screen will appear (if you are already logged into your Wiley account, please proceed to step 4.).
If you already have a Wiley account, enter your User ID to log in and proceed to step 4..
If you do not have a Wiley account, please click Sign up at the bottom.

3. The screen looks very similar, but note that the yellow-highlighted area now shows "Sign up," indicating this is the account creation page.
Enter your email address (This email address must match the one to which the invitation email in 1. was sent!) and click [Continue]. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to you by email immediately. Please enter this code in your browser. For more details, please refer to Wiley’s official manuals.
Please avoid using a Google account, Microsoft account, ORCID account, or Apple ID at this stage. You can link your ORCID account after your Wiley account has been created.
If you have any questions, click Help at the bottom of the screen (blue arrow) to contact Wiley Support.

4. The manuscript information will be displayed as shown below. As a precaution, please confirm that the manuscript details match those in the invitation email.
The version is displayed near the upper-right corner (Version 1 for the initial submission, Version 2 for the first revision).
① Click on Files to view the manuscript files (instructions in step 5.).
② Enter your review comments under Your Report (instructions in step 6.).

5. When you click on Files, a list of files will be displayed. The reviewer PDF can be found in the area highlighted in magenta. Please note that the system’s PDF conversion function still has room for improvement—you may find that some figures appear in reduced quality. In certain cases, some figures may not be included in the reviewer PDF at all (for example, figures with file sizes over 10 MB are often excluded).
The first 1–4 pages of the PDF usually list all included source files.
For any missing figures, please download the original files uploaded by the authors (see green-highlighted section in the image).
To download a file, click the icon with a downward arrow in a square (indicated by the magenta arrow).
To open a PDF directly in your browser, click the eye icon (indicated by the blue arrow).

6. To enter your review, click on Your Report. A form will appear for you to complete.
You may also upload your comments as a file. However, please note that the file may be passed directly to the authors. Before uploading, make sure that no metadata (such as author or editor information) remains in the file. If you are unable to remove it yourself, feel free to contact the Editorial Office for assistance.
If you wish to send a confidential message to the Transmitting Editor (handling editor), click the area indicated by the blue arrow.
At the bottom of the form, you will be asked whether you consent to sharing your review activity with Web of Science. Please select one option, then click [Submit Report].

7. A confirmation screen will appear. Click [Submit report] to complete your submission.

Reviewing a Revised Version

Rev-1. You will also receive a notification email when a revised version is submitted and the Transmitting Editor invites you.

Rev-2. A screen similar to that in Step 4. of the initial version will appear, now with the author's response included. First, click ① Files.

Rev-3. When you click ① Files, a list of files will appear. The reviewer PDF is located in the area marked with a magenta border.
Note that the authors' responses are included within this PDF. The original uploaded response file is shown in Rev-4. below.
To download a file, click the icon with the downward arrow inside a box (magenta arrow).
To open the PDF in your browser, click the eye icon (blue arrow).

Rev-4. Click ② Response to Revision Request in Rev-2. to download the original file of the authors' responses.

Rev-5. To enter your review comments, click ③ Your Report in Rev-2. A form will appear for you to complete. This step is almost identical to the Step 6. for the initial version , so we will not repeat the details here.
